Egypt class are enthusiastic and highly motivated students who display exemplary behaviour, acting as fantastic role models to each individual at Powers Hall Academy. They understand the importance of kindness, mutual respect and treat others how they expect to be treated in return.
Each week the children will be expected to:
• practise their set spellings on Spelling Shed.
• practise their recall of the times tables on Times Tables Rock Stars.
• read on MyOn.

Things to remember!
Please ensure that each day your child is bringing in their:
• pupil planner
• school reading book
• water bottle
• PE kit (on PE days)
Egypt class have PE on a Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning during Key Skills. Please ensure PE kits are kept in school and are labelled.
Maths - We will be continuing to follow Power Maths, a UK curriculum mastery
programme, focusing on place value and addition/subtraction.
In addition, we will be focusing heavily on mastering our recall of the 3x, 4x and 8x tables and moving onto learning the 6x, 7x and 9x tables.
English - This half term we will be reading 'The Twits' by Roald Dahl and 'The Demon Dentist' by David Walliams. These books will act as our stimulus for writing. We will be learning to create varied sentences, incorporating grammar techniques to add cohesion.
Connected Curriculum - Our focus for the Autumn term is PSHE. Children will gauge an understanding of living in the wider world, focusing on belonging to a community and the importance of money and work. Children will also learn about maintaining a balanced, healthy lifestyle and the importance of oral hygiene and dental care.
Science - In the first half term we will be focusing on Animals including Humans followed by States of Matter in the second half term.
PE - Children will have twice weekly PE sessions, taking part in a variety of sports such as football and gymnastics.
RE - In the second half term children will be learning about Christianity, building on their existing knowledge from Year 3.
Computing - Children will learn about how to keep safe online and how to create a variety of documents using Microsoft tools.
DT/Art - Children will be beginning the term enhancing their drawing and painting skills in the style of Quentin Blake.
