Homework
Each week for homework the children will be set:
- Spellings on spelling shed these will also be handed out on Mondays to be tested on Fridays.
- Times table practice recall on Times Table Rockstars.
- Reading. Please try and read with your child daily as this will really boost your child's reading age. Reading regularly will help out class reading tree and grow and develop.
The links for these websites are below, and each child has had their passwords stuck into the front of their planners. If they are having trouble logging into their accounts please let me know.

Our Summer Curriculum overview.
English
We will be applying our English skills to write cross curricular with our topic in Geography: rivers. The children will be enjoying our class book 'Floodland' by Marcus Sedgewick. We will be using what we have read and our knowledge of rivers to write a diary entry. The children will also be producing a non-chronological report showcasing everything they have learnt about rivers.
Maths: This year, we will continue to follow the power maths program, which is based on the idea of mastery. This half term we will be focusing on place value.
Throughout the term, we will also be strengthening our multiplication knowledge.
SCIENCE: This half term, children are learning about forces. The children will be carrying out their own experiments and investigations to see how forces work and the impact they have.
P.E: In this half term, the students will be taking part in two P.E sessions a week. On a Monday the children will take part in tag rugby and on Thursdays gymnastics.
R.E: This term in RE we are exploring Hinduism.
