Our key skills morning is every Thursday. This term the children will be learning French, Computing and PE.
Snacks need to be healthy and under 100 calories. Your child should only have 1 snack and 1 drink. We may have to send snacks home if we fear they aren't healthy enough.
Our Autumn Curriculum overview.
Connected Curriculum: The focus of this term is PSHE. Children will broaden their view on living in the wider world, increase their understanding of belonging to a community, and to gauge the importance of money and work. The children will also be learning about the importance of protecting and preserving the environment.
In order link these themes, the children will be constructing a wildlife garden at the back of the school and coming up with numerous ways that we can raise money to complete this project.
English: This half term we will be linking many of our English lessons to our community project (the wild life garden.) The children will be encouraged to write persuasively to persuade our Head Teacher to allow the project to go ahead. They will also write instructions on how to bake cakes to raise money for our garden project and explain the life cycle of the creatures living in our garden.
We will also be reading the book Holes by Louis Sachar and basing our VIPERS lessons around it.
Maths: This year, we will continue to follow the power maths program, which is based on the idea of mastery. This half term we will be focusing on place value.
Throughout the term, we will also be strengthening our multiplication knowledge.
