Just a quick update for you all in these difficult circumstances.
All work will be set on Purple Mash every day. For the week beginning 23.03.20, I will keep the Maths and English tasks as outlined in the section below. There is already tasks set on Purple Mash for that week, for the children to complete as well. There is also Spellings and Maths set on Spelling Shed and MyMaths for wb 23.03.20.
Every day will consist of a Maths task, an English task and a fun activity. The children have access to this and their logins are in their reading records. I believe logins are also being sent out. If you need your login, please email me using the email address below.
Within Purple Mash will also be a blog where the children will be able to see what work is set every day and ask any questions about any of the tasks. I will be setting spellings on Spelling Shed and Maths work on MyMaths. I will be reminding the children of this on the blog. It would be great if you could do a spelling test every Friday on the words from Spelling Shed. The children are able to post comments on the blog to keep in contact with me and ask any questions. This can be accessed by: logging onto purple mash - sharing - shared blogs - Euston Square learning blog.
There is also an option to share work to the Euston Square Display Board on Purple Mash. This is a chance for the children to share any work they have done on Purple Mash to the rest of the class. To see the board, click on the sharing icon at the top of the page and then the 'Euston Square Display Board'. To upload work, the children have to:
1. Open up any work on their 2Do's which is highlighted green.
2. Click the icon in the top left hand corner (three lines) and click on the share icon.
3. Out of the three options that appear, click on the first one labelled 'share'.
4. Click on the Euston Square Display Board.
If anyone has any questions about this, please do email me and I will get back to you as soon as possible: PowersEuston@connectedlearningmat.co.uk.
Take care of yourselves.
I hope you are all keeping safe in these difficult and uncertain times. I wanted to leave a message on here just to let you all know what work is available to access from home. The children have a number of online accounts which will have activities set on them. These include: My Maths, Spelling Shed, Purple mash, Renaissance Reading and Times-tables Rockstars (TTRS). The children should know where to look for their logins in the front of their Reading Records. If you are having any trouble with accessing any of these, then please let me know. Tasks have already been set on My Maths, Times table Rockstars, Purple Mash and Spelling Shed. A lot of these tasks will reinforce previous learning.
For reading, children can read their library books and quiz these on Renaissance Reading, as well as take the vocabulary quizzes for these books. Children can also read any books you have at home and may also be able to quiz these, if you type in the title of the book. Oxford Owl is a good and free website that you can access e-books. They have lots of different levels on the website so you should be able to find something appropriate for your child's level.
In addition to these tasks, I will also be uploading worksheets that aim to cover parts of the national curriculum we would be covering if we were in school. I will also be uploading a word document outlining all tasks set for that week and where to find them - this is in addition to tasks already set on My Maths and Spelling Shed. Please ask if you are unsure.
Miss. Chamberlain :)
I will be setting some work too so check your 2todo list or please feel free to just explore the Computing section of Purple Mash. I have also set up a Computing Learning Display Board so it would be great to share some of your work with everyone too.
If you wish to explore the world of Computing further you could try the links below. They are both websites recommended for Computing and free to use but always check with an adult that they are happy too before you log on.
