Dear Korea,
I hope you all had a good rest and lots of fun over the Christmas holidays and are now ready for the new year.
It has been a pleasure to see each and every one of you grow in confidence in the Autumn term and I look forward to seeing that continue into the new term.
Our Spring term theme is History - Empires with impact - and I know how much you all love learning History. If you would like to know more about what we will be focusing in Spring term, then click on the overview pdf or watch the slides. As usual, your amazing self-motivated theme projects are welcome to inspire others.
Let’s have a great term!

When Do I have PE?
Year 6 PE days are Thursdays and Fridays. PE kit should be brought to class on the beginning of each half-term. If you do not bring your PE kit into school then you will not be able to participate in PE for that session. As a reminder, can children also not come to school wearing earrings on PE days. Earrings cannot be removed at school as per the risk assessment in order to keep everyone safe.
How you can help at home?
- Encourage your child to read to you at least 3 times a week. At other times do talk to your child about what they read, to check recall and understanding. Please do record in the reading diary any reading activities you share with your child.
- Read other books, as well as their reading book, such as non-fiction, newspapers, and guide-books from family visits…anything that promotes conversation about what you are reading.
- Times tables: Tables are tested regularly so please ensure that your child works on TTRS regularly.
More information about Spellings, homework and the Autumn Term Overview will follow shortly.
