Teacher Training
Become a teacher in Essex
Have you thought about becoming a primary school teacher?
Our school works in partnership with Essex and Thames Primary SCITT offering high quality teacher training in primary education. The SCITT PGCE courses lead to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and the award of a PGCE in Primary Education with 60 credits towards a masters degree. 100% of graduates from Essex and Thames Primary SCITT gain jobs as teachers, and at Powers Hall Academy, we employ many of these new teachers at the school or recommend them to other schools within our Multi Academy Trust.
Essex and Thames Primary SCITT has been involved with training the very best primary school teachers for Essex primary schools for nearly 20 years. The training is predominantly school-based with 120 days spent in the classroom and 70+ days at centre-based training in Wickford or Southend. This gives you extensive knowledge of the curriculum and of educational pedagogy. The programme opens in August with an Induction and a PE coaching course and finishes in July.
With a truly excellent reputation for teacher training, our outstanding school with its SCITT partner, offers you a variety of routes into teaching in Essex.
